The Covenant of God in Christ Part 8 - The Commandment Unto Life

What is the purpose in Jesus Christ.  He said I have come to have life and have it abundantly.  The New Covenant is the Covenant unto Life. 
John 2:49 For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak." In John 12, Jesus said

The Covenant of God in Christ Part 6 - The WORD from Jerusalem II

Isaiah prophesied that a word and law were coming forth from Jerusalem and Zion!  Jesus fulfilled the prophecy bringing forth His Word and the New Covenant in Himself!
Isa 2:1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the LORD's house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it. 3 Many people shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths." For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 He shall judge between the nations, And rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore. 5 O house of Jacob, come and let us walk In the light of the LORD. 

The Covenant of God in Christ Part 6 - The WORD from Jerusalem

What is the WORD from Jerusalem that would come in the latter days?  Out of Zion would go forth the Law, and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem.  I would suggest it is the Law of Life in Christ Jesus, and the Word of Christ that came into Jerusalem when Jesus came.  Glory to God.

The Covenant of God in Christ Part 4 - The Mountain of the Lord's House

Isaiah 2 is one of my favorite scriptures in our Bible.  }"Come and let us go to the mountain of the Lord, He will teach us His ways and we will walk in His Paths." This is in essence the New Covenant.  We come to walk in the paths of the Lord.  We come to learn His ways.  Here in Mount Zion, where we come by the Spirit of God through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, we come to learn of God by the Spirit of the Lord revealing Christ in us!  Glory to God.

The Covenant of God in Christ Part 3 - Jehovah God in the Midst

When God came to Moses and declared His Name Jehovah, He told Moses that by my name Jehovah, they did not know me, speaking of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  However, with a search of scripture we will see they called Him Jehovah.  The New Living Translation says that His Name wasn't revealed.  This is right on.  What I believe He was saying that by my name Jehovah or Yahweh I was not revealed to them.
He appeared to Abraham as El Shaddai, The Almighty God.  What does this mean?  What does it matter?  As El Shaddai he was the All Mighty, God of All.  You could say God of Heaven and Earth, the only God.  However, if we look closely, He would appear and then leave in His appearing to Abraham. 
When He came to Moses as Jehovah, He was coming to be God in the Midst.  The God of Covenant.  He came to dwell among the people of Israel.  This I believe is what He was saying in Jehovah.   This goes deeper.  In this name He reveals Himself to a people.  He appeared to Moses and declared that "I AM Who I AM."  Then He declares He is JEHOVAH.  From here He makes known He is Jehovah their Healer, Jehovah their Shepherd, Jehovah their banner, Jehovah their righteousness, God all in all.  He makes known in this name who I AM That I AM is, and He makes it known in a people.  The people of Israel. 
This finds its fulfillment in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Jesus comes and is among the people of Israel.  He becomes among them Christ their Healer, Christ their Provider, Christ their Teacher, Christ their Righteousness.  Again we can go on and on.  However, Jesus says these profound words recorded in John 14.  "At that day you will know I AM in my Father, and you are in Me, and I AM in you.  All that He is, is in the Father.  All that He is in you.  Now He is God in You in All That He is.  This is the New Coveanant, Christ in You!

Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
John 14:20At that day ye shall know that I [am] in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 

The Covenant of God in Christ II - A People Unto Who God Is

Have you ever wondered what are the words of the New Covenant? The Words of the Old Covenant are clearly spelled out in your Bible, "Thou shall not."  The words of the New are contained in the Person of Jesus Christ. 
God gave Christ as the Covenant.  The relationship I have with God is according to Jesus Christ.  He is the Word I come to God by.  He is the Word I dwell in.  He is the Word who is my Life.  Glory to God!

The New Covenant in Christ Part 1 - The Covenant is the Person
