Take Eat, This Is My Body
Matthew 26:26 “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
This is the tenth part of a series that will be coming to YouTube and Podbean, The Covenant of God in Christ. I believe this is a very important lesson and I am sharing it with the Church. It is dealing with Eating His Flesh and Drinking His Blood. What does it mean to eat His flesh and drink His Blood? Jesus said if we do not eat His flesh and drink His blood, we have no life in us? This lesson serves to begin to define these statements out of John 6 and Luke 22.
Consider John 1, that the Apostle John writes the Word was made flesh. In verse 1 John defines the WORD as God. This Word is LOGOS in the Greek and embodies the thought and intent of what was spoken. I believe God spoke throughout the Old Covenant in various ways, as stated in Hebrews 1. In this speaking was the thought and intent of THE WORD. To illustrate this, we see a Covenant made that is put in force through the blood of an offering or offerings. The intent and purpose of this is only found when the Person of Christ, THE WORD, comes and is made flesh and offers Himself for the Sin of the World. He fulfills and sums up the offerings that are made in the first covenant and brings forth in Himself the offering of the New Covenant.
Also, when this is instituted with Moses at Mount Sinai a Word is given. This is the word of the Old Covenant sealed with blood. Jesus in like manner sets forth the words of the New Covenant as He speaks throughout the Gospel and brings them into force in His death, burial, and resurrection. In fact, the words of the New Covenant are defined and known in THE WORD Himself. Jesus Christ Himself is the Word of the New Covenant. He declares that the words He spoke were Spirit and Life. I believe these words He spoke, fore example, “You are clean through the word I have spoken,” takes life in His divine presence by the Spirit of God. We come to know we are clean through Him as we know Him and see we are washed by the water of HIS WORD from the old man where we were filth, and we are renewed in His Life in the New Man where there is no filth or condemnation.
As we hear this Word, you are clean through the words he spoke, we begin to believe and see the cleansing of Christ. This is powerful to me. A church with no spot or wrinkle being cleansed by the Water of Life. Glory to God.
