The Person of the Gospel Part 15 - In The Beginning Was The Word

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men." 
Here it is.  Out from this statement, I believe flows ALL THINGS!  The thought, the intent, the purpose was in the WORD.  All things came out of Him and all things are to Him.  I believe He is the measurement of everything holy.  If we we are in the thought of God, are to know the thought of God, it is measured by Christ.  
God's plan and purpose is contained in a person.  That Person is Jesus Christ!  This was from the beginning and was manifest to us in the Person of Jesus.  Now it is revealed in those who receive Him.  Glory to God.
John 1:12  "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" 
 
 

The Person of the Gospel Part 14 - That From The Beginning

1Jn 1:1 "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full."
Although John had walked with Jesus in the flesh and seen the demonstrations, miracles, and love pouring from the Man Jesus, this word of life that John declared was more than just seeing Jesus in the flesh.  It was this life that John had seen as Jesus Christ walked with his disciples now filling their hearts by the Spirit of God. 
This same life and fellowship is available to all Christians.   This same life and fellowship is what Christianity is.  Christianity is not simply doctrines, but is a fellowship of the Life that was with God from the beginning.  Glory to God!
 

The Person of the Gospel Part 13 - God’s Plan and Purpose

We find in Ephesians 1, God has gathered all things in Christ and in the administration of the fullness of time the Holy Spirit is showing us all things He has gathered.  Glory to God!

The Person of the Gospel Part 12 - The Light of the Beginning

In the beginning of creation God created the heavens and the earth.  And God said let there be light.  This was before he created the sun, moon and stars.  What is the Light from the beginning?  Jesus said I am the Light of the world.  This is the answer.
When Jesus came into the world, He brought the Light of God's plan and purpose to man.  This was God living in man.  God was in Christ as we have looked at many times.  This purpose in Christ was for God to reconcile man to His plan and purpose from the beginning.  This Light who is Christ is the definition and defining of God's purpose.  Glory to God. 

The Person of the Gospel Part 11 - The Ministry of Reconcilation

Paul says in Corinthians we have been given the Ministry of Reconciliation.  What is that?  "That God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself." What is the true nature of the Ministry Reconciliation.  I believe Paul gives us the answer or a look into the answer in Romans 5.
Rom 5:10 "For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life;  11 and not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation."
At the cross, I believe Jesus brought mankind to himself.  "If I be lifted up from the world I will draw all men to myself"  However, that does not mean they automatically come to His Life.  He said now is the time when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and they that hear shall live.  He is not just talking about the dead bodies in graves but the ALL the dead that are in Adam.  Those that hear are those who hear and believe.  Those who actively receive Him and COME TO HIS LIFE!
It is His Life that saves us, delivers us, makes us whole.  His Life is what brings us into a brand new creation where sin and darkness does not rule us, but Christ Jesus the Lord is our Life.  He is to me salvation.  How much of the well of salvation I drink from is measured by how much of CHRIST I know by the Spirit of God.  
Now this knowing is for every heart that will turn TO HIM!  He will guide you into all TRUTH!  Glory to God!
 
 

The Person of the Gospel Part 10 - Reconciliation of the World

Jesus declared in John’s Gospel that “the Father in me doeth the works.”  As a young Christian, my concept of the Father and Son was that God the Father was up in Heaven and Jesus the Son was on the earth, when Jesus walked the earth.  However, looking at the scripture, Jesus declared the Father was in Him and that He was in the Father.  This is plain in Christ’s declarations throughout the Book of John.  Especially John 14. 
 
In 2 Corinthians 5, Paul writes that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.  Consider this in the light of the Lord’s nature.  In Adam we lived as Adam or the world.  In Christ we are to live in that which is Christ.  Not only has He brought us through the cross to Himself, but in the knowing of the Person of Jesus Christ we are coming or being transformed into the nature and character that He is, Christ actively forming Himself in our hearts and minds!

The Person of the Gospel Part 9 - God into Man

The Victory of the Cross is what we have to come to.  He won the victory of the cross?  The Lord Jesus did!  God did.  God came into man and defeated every foe in the Person of Jesus Christ.  Now we live in what He has done.  Or He lives in us, and in His living we comprehend or realize Him and what He has done!  Glory to God!

The Person of the Gospel Part 8 - I AM COME - All Things in Christ

All Things in Christ, What a thought, consideration!  This should abide in every Christian heart.  WE should be setting our hearts and minds to KNOWING All Things in Christ.  This is what I want to say is my heart.  "That I may know Him."  That I may know Him in all things!  Glory to God!
